INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROSPECTIVE ENTRANTS INTO THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT YEAR (PDY) PROGRAM
As of 2001, all graduate technologists wishing to become eligible for Accreditation with the ANZSNM Accreditation Board must have completed the equivalent of 12 months full time (over a maximum of 2 years) within an approved workplace under the PDY/Mentor Program.
1. SUCCESSFULLY APPLY FOR A POSITION IN AN APPROVED WORKPLACE (see "Departments/Practices approved for PDY training" below). If you are unsure of the workplace's status or your prospective workplace does not appear on the list, please contact the Secretariat for clarification of their Approval status. It is your responsibility to ascertain that the department's Approval is current before signing employment contract.
2. APPLY TO THE ANZSNM ACCREDITATION BOARD to enter the program using the Application to Enter PDY/Mentor Program form (see below). This application must reach the Secretariat within 30 days of you commencing employment. If your forms are received later than the 30 days, the start date of your PDY year will be deemed to be the day the Board received your application. No correspondence will be entered into.
3. THE ACCREDITATION BOARD WILL ALLOCATE YOU A MENTOR, AND SEND THE GUIDELINES AND FOUR (4) FEEDBACK FORMS TO YOU. AT THIS POINT YOU WILL BE OFFICIALLY ENROLLED IN THE PDY PROGRAMME.
4. AT THE COMPLETION OF YOUR 12 MONTHS YOUR SUPERVISOR WILL COMPLETE YOUR FINAL FEEDBACK FORM WHICH IS TO BE SENT TO YOUR MENTOR AND THEN FORWARDED TO THE BOARD. YOU WILL ALSO NEED TO COMPLETE AN APPLICATION FOR FULL ACCREDITATION. YOUR APPLICATION FOR ACCREDITATION WILL THEN BE PROCESSED AT THE FIRST ACCREDITATION BOARD MEETING FOLLOWING RECEIPT OF YOUR APPLICATION.
5. THE FEES FOR ACCREDITATION ARE AS FOLLOWS:
PDY YEAR $30 + GST = $33
TECHNOLOGIST MEMBER ANZSNM Inc. $300 +GST = $330*
OR
TECHNOLOGIST NON MEMBER ANZSNM Inc. $500 + GST = $550*
For technologists resident outside Australia (i.e. New Zealand), GST is not applicable.
PAYMENT MUST ACCOMPANY YOUR APPLICATION (cheque or money order only - no credit cards - payable to ANZSNM Accreditation Board).
* SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP IS $125 PLUS GST = $137.50 (payable separately to the ANZSNM by cheque, money order or credit card) ? Membership application included in package |
