The ANZSNM’s Scientific Advisory Panel (“SAP”) exists as an expert group that the ANZSNM can request informed views on regarding scientific issues and content for the Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM). It was established in 2013.
One of the main activities of the SAP is in supporting the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of each ASM to ensure a consistently high standard of contemporary topics matched by appropriate international and national speakers are sought.
The SAP also oversees the awards that are offered at the ASM and assists with selection of judges etc.
Call for Expressions of Interest to join the ANZSNM Scientific Advisory Panel (2019)
The SAP was established in 2013 and the original members remained in their positions in the lead-up to the World Congress in Melbourne in 2018. These members are now mostly standing down from the panel and the ANZSNM is seeking Expressions of Interest from members to join the panel.
Meetings are held as required up to 4 times per year, by teleconference, and once in person at the ASM.
The individuals sought for the panel should have a good awareness of current trends in nuclear medicine diagnostics and therapeutics and it is highly desirable if they regularly attend nuclear medicine meetings, both nationally and internationally, or are actively engaged in online CPD activities such as webinars, to help to identify potential speakers for future ASMs.
The panel consists of medical, scientific and technologist members as well as a representative from each of the two forthcoming ASMs. Up to six appointments will be made in this round. Appointments are for two years initially with an extension of a further two years if mutually agreeable.
