The Australian and New Zealand Society of Nuclear Medicine (ANZSNM) Technologist Special Interest Group (TSIG) offers a Mentor Program, linking a NMT new to the profession, with a more experienced NMT. Mentor programs across the medical and allied health professions, are a common way to provide encouragement and support for growth and improvement of team members new to a profession. In 2022 a Pilot Mentor Program was conducted, to test both the desire of our more senior NMT’s to provide mentorship, and to see if our newer NMT’s gain value from this type of relationship. The TSIG will now run this as a permanent feature for our members.

In the beginning, it is expected that the mentor would take the lead, establishing ‘catch ups’ and reaching out to the mentee. As the relationship evolves, the mentee should drive the discussion.
If you would like to take part in the program, please provide:-
- Either a completed Mentor Program Registration Form or a completed Mentee Program Registration Form and,
- A short statement (no more than 250 words) stating the reasons why you would like to be involved.
We will match mentors with a mentee, based on factors including physical location, and department type.
We are confident this initiative will be highly beneficial to nuclear medicine technologists in all stages of their careers and our wider profession.
